Empty, or Just Not Working?
Plenty of disposables get thrown away with oil still in them, because a failing coil and an empty tank feel identical from the outside.
Check the window if the pen has one. If you can still see oil, the problem is usually a flooded or exhausted coil rather than an empty tank — let it stand upright for a few minutes, then draw gently rather than hard. If the vapour is thin but the pen still fires, the battery may be low even on a model sold as single-use. Disposing of a Dead Pen Properly
Worth knowing, because most people get this wrong. A disposable vape contains a lithium-ion battery, and lithium batteries should not go in household rubbish or in the mixed recycling bin. Compacted in a truck they can short and catch fire, which is a genuine and well-documented problem for waste crews.
Take spent pens to a battery or electronics recycling drop-off instead. Many municipalities in Canada accept them at household hazardous waste depots, and some retailers run collection points. It takes no more effort than a bottle return and it is the one part of this format that deserves a moment's thought.
